Thanksgiving
Basket
"This arrangement
is accomplished with using fall colors in yellow, orange, brown,
& gold and done with asymmetrical balance."
- Start with
a wicker basket with or without a handle. Place a plastic liner
(bowl) inside to hold the oasis that has been soaked in water.
Use Sahara if you use all dried material.
- Spray paint
pinecones gold, so they can be drying while you start on the
arrangement.
- Put your
longest line material in first horizontally on one side for
an asymmetrical balance. Then place your largest material, i.e.,
miniature pumpkins & sunflowers on the opposite side. Insert
a wooden pick in the pumpkins to hold them in place in the oasis.
- Fill in
with whatever material you wish. Just don't have everything
the same size, the same texture, or the same color. I used rust
colored silks and dried material. I also used small yellow silk
flower sprays & pheasant feathers.
- For a finishing
touch, add a tailored solid color bow. A patterned bow makes
the whole arrangement look too busy.
Have fun!
