Vikki
has always been fascinated with stained glass windows in churches
and by glass galley pieces.
Working with glass is part of her heritage
as she is the great granddaughter of a glass artist from the tiffany
era.
She became entranced with glass after attending her first stained
glass class in 1988. Since then, much of her time has been spent
with the endless hours of collecting materials and designing pieces
which she has sold to family and friends and now to the public.
In 1997, Vikki had the opportunity to attend
a workshop on "fused glass". Fused glass is made from
several layers of glass that are kiln-fired at a high temperature
and is the technique she uses to create the stained glass panel
shown here.
